Hotel Valet KPIs: 7 Numbers Every Doha Property Should Track
By Hocine Belgacem, CEO of Heronys · 27 September 2026
Guests judge a valet in two moments: when they hand over the keys and when they wait for their car. Everything in between is invisible to them — and often to management too. These seven numbers make it visible.
1. Retrieval time
From the moment a guest asks for their car to the moment they drive away. Track the median and the slowest 10% by hour of day; the slow tail is what guests remember.
2. Check-in time at the podium
From arrival to the guest walking away. Paper tickets and handwritten details make this the first queue of the visit.
3. Peak-hour load
Cars checked in and requested per hour, by day of week. It tells you when to add drivers — and when you are paying for drivers you do not need.
4. Cars on site versus capacity
How many valet cars are parked right now against the bays set aside for them. When this runs close to full, retrieval times climb.
5. Damage claims and how they were resolved
Every claim, and whether the car was documented on arrival. Photos and records taken at check-in turn disputes into a two-minute check.
6. Exceptions: lost tickets, wrong cars, missing keys
Rare but expensive in reputation. Count them, and look for the shift, podium or process they cluster around.
7. Activity per valet
Cars parked and retrieved per driver per shift. It is a fairness and staffing number, not a speed contest.
How do you collect these without more paperwork?
Move the valet flow to a system that timestamps every step as it happens: NFC or digital check-in at the podium, the car's details captured on arrival, dispatch to a named driver, and a retrieval request from the guest's phone. The KPIs then come out of the log automatically. That is how the Heronys valet flow and operations dashboard work, in English and Arabic.
What is a good valet retrieval time?
It depends on the distance between the podium and the parking area and on peak volume. Measure your own median and your slowest 10% by hour, and set targets from that baseline rather than from a generic number.
How do you measure valet KPIs without extra work?
Use a digital valet flow in which every step — check-in, parking, request, handover — is timestamped automatically. The KPIs then come out of the log instead of from clipboards.
Does Heronys report valet KPIs?
Yes. The Heronys operations dashboard shows check-ins, cars parked, peak hours, average stay and activity per valet, from the same records the valet team creates as they work.
